hi all, I *loved* my trip to Scotland last weekend, it was great to be back there and to finally meet the lovely Nessie in person :-)

found Loch Ness mara to be quite tough - not a flat as maybe their course profile suggests, with way more undulations, and *that* hill after Dores was very tough. By that point my running mate's wheels had fallen off and we were doing a run-walk fartlek between the cones.

would definitely go back and do it again, the scenery was stunning and the people very friendly.

PS - Not the biggest fan of bagpipes in the world, but seeing that band at the beginning standing on the rainy and windswept moor did bring a bit of a lump to the throat :-)

Lovely to meet you at last too, Fraggle :)

I did the same on the hill, with a lovely Liverpudlian lady I teamed up with at Foyers. We were running 2 cones, walking 1, then 1:1 on the steep bit.

At least the wind dropped a bit after we got going......

I hear the Munich marathon is very good, and flat. Directs flights from Edinburgh. And has good beer :-)
