All tarmac, all the paths are wide apart from around the pond. The hill is hillier than you'd think, especially second time around ;-), but it is an excellent descent to run off it to the finish. In fact, checking my log, it is pretty much a steady climb to the summit, 25m in around 1200m from the start. Very nice park, quite different from Falkirk, open and gently rolling. Lovely grass for a cooldown and a (somewhat scrappy) blaes track just by at Balwearie HS (Fetch free mile?). Must go back. |

Livingston parkrun Soap? Have you tried it? We were having a chat today about gentle undulations and corners and gravel and how much effect that has. We agreed we preferred it, in some ways. Cramond is tough when there's a headwind on the return imho. Thanks for description. G

fetcheveryone.com/t-13307439 There's my Livi trace, I ran it on NYD having done Strathclyde earlier. Strathclyde can be fast becxause it's flat but exposed to the wind - like Cramond. So is Aberdeen beach. |

Thanks for that listing Soap, but not sure how the elites' times would be relevant for me?! The speed they do on a course doesn't seem to be related to hilliness and other things that affect mortals! I suspect the record on a course will be dependent on which elite decided to turn up to it! I do like Livi though. Must give Kirkcaldy a crack. Is there a Beveridge Park (Kirkcaldy) 5K series of some sort going on just now too? How does that relate (if at all) to the Kirkcaldy (Beveridge Park) parkrun? G |

fetcheveryone.com/t-10398963 That's a link to the Beveridge Park 5 k route. It's in the same park as the parkrun, but a different course. You start at the top of the hill and do 2 1/2 laps of the park. No trip around the duck pond |
