Anyone done both the Fling and the Devil. What is the comparison for the same athlete doing both events. e.g. if you do the Fling in x hours you can expect a Devil time of x - y hours?

When I was in decent shape I did Fling 9.21, Devil 6.57 and Fling 9.25 over three consecutive years. All were in reasonably good conditions and all the races went without major issues.

Both times I'd entered the Fling (but got injured beforehand) I was in about 3:15 marathon shape and they say Fling is 3* your marathon time, so was hoping for about 9:45 - 10:00, and I've done 2 Devils recently in 7:13 and 7:27, so that works out roughly Devil is 75% of Fling, which ties up with 57.5's times above

Be interesting to see what others have found

8.5 hrs and 10.5 hours for me. Both were "slower than optimal" given my ability at the time. :-) G

I've done the Fling 5 times:

12:45, 12:53, 13:03, 14:22, 14:23

Done the Devil twice:

9:21 and 10:52.

Don't really know what to make of those times except that they're very slow!

I was thinking 11 hours for the Devil, but I might be more adventurous and go for low 10 hours. But there are so many variables, and it is a long way of yet.

And my Fling times have been:
12:45:42
12:43:03
12:41:19
11:55:22
11:34:08
But the last was 7 years ago and the first 13 years ago!
I'm way slower and less athletic now. :(
