Local race - Moray Marathon, a team set to relaunch it next April. Course measure was part of their prep.

Moray Marathon was held for many years in several guises.

That's quite similar to the old course (until 2013) but with more around the Lossie and a climb up Brumley Brae rather than Duffus Road. I shall pencil it in to the diary!

Can you say who's organising?

My one and only Moray Marathon was 2012 - was a nice course I recall. Done the coastal section a few times since in the Kinloss to Lossie Half

Covers some of that route - from Burghead to Lossie - but goes straight on when get to RAF Lossiemouth turning and into and through Loss, then towards the Llanbryde road - cuts back onto cycle path back into Elgin.

A generally nice course - first two miles a bit cheeky. So start mega slow - your first 2 miles should be slowest of whole run. Only other climb is the Burghead one that was in the Gate to Gate.

Moray marathon in 2012 was my first marathon :) fond memories even though they took the finish down before I got there and a marshal had given up and left so I nearly got lost (I finished in just over 5 hours)

Tbf, you weren’t overly slow. That wasn’t great.

I did the last Moray marathon in 2016/2017 with Metro_Nome. The race that the leaders were turned the wrong way and we were in first place for a wee while.
