haha, maybe we could just send on a little trip so he can't make the Olympics and then let him out again? :-)

yeah I'll go with that but can we make it a life long performance ban?
After all an abattoir seems a little harsh for a vegetarian. ;)

Since we're on the subject of "singers" I'd like to propose a long walk off a short pier for Frank Sinatra. I'd have Dino and Sammy any day and leave Frank gagged in a cupboard under the stage.

Sinatra - yesssssss - he makes good songs sound cheap and nasty.

Jaffa cakes. Cheap jelly, cheaper chocolate, spongy base. *Retches*

Football. Not just Euro 2012, but all football. Overpaid, tatooed, play-acting, cheating yobs in the premiership and endless, mindless coverage from barely literate journos in the papers, on TV etc. Bored, bored, bored. Go away.

Now Rugby, that's a very different matter...

Blood-capsule-gate cost Rugby any moral high ground it might once have had over football, sadly.

Not sure football is a sacred cow in any case. It is well-criticised from a number of sources.

So, it's only the top slice of football and rugby - oh, and what about RL? - that's for the mincer? Grass roots sport survives, witness the impact of professionalism on RU - and how many clubs are where they were before the cash came?

About This Thread

Maintained by GregP
Regular listeners of FT will know about this one. What national 'treasure' do you feel would be better on a skip rather than on a pedestal?

Someone (an MK Dons supporter) proposed AFC Wimbledon, about whom everyone gets misty eyed but he hated.

Other nominations included Bruce Forsyth and Seb Coe.

We were discussing this on the Rugby Wire (whch unforgivably is *not* called "y wifren rygbi ") as Martin Johnson was nominated.

It was suggested that a wider audience might enjoy the challenge.
