Evening

The good news on the Achilles seems to have come to a halt. Got up this morning to find it painful and difficult to walk on. Made a bit worse by a bit of Christmas shopping this afternoon. After getting back out ice pack on that has improved things. Hopefully rest etc should help but working tonight. 50/50 now for race.

Really sorry to hear that riggys. No running now and stay off your feet as much as you can at work.

Thanks LMH the first one I can do the second one depends on how the residents behave tonight ๐Ÿ˜

I am on leave this week but picked tonight up as an extra for Decembers wages

Riggsy - your were bound to be sore today after not much running and then 14m yday. Keep icing and keep doing the heel drops. You'll need to keep ticking over in order to be able to run a marathon. Legs need impact before marathons.

OO61 - You had best use the VF3 for faster races where you are less likely to drag then. I'm probably a drag act too, so that doesn't sound ideal.

OO - good idea on the paint job, my black VF2 havnt been anywhere near as fast as my blue/red trim pair.

5m easy today

Bad timing Riggys, I did read somewhere that rubbing ice up & down the achilles is quite effective. The bad news is that tendons are slower to heal than muscle injuries.

OO.. yes thanks, the weeks of cycling definitely helped. Lucky that the 2nd half of summer was a lot better than the 1st half! I think the injection was the major turning point for me.

7.3m today, and the sun was out!

Thanks all
Still hopefully of doing maravan in two weeks time. Hopefully a short run on Wednesday and something longer on Sunday. Can make mind up morning of race. We will be at van that weekend anyway. Throwing everything at sorting the injury out.

Wardi - don't think it was sunny here, but I didn't see any daylight to know.

Riggsy - in that case you can start the race and see how it goes.

OO61 - I had a look at the VF3 sole, its changed a little but looks pretty similar to ver 2? Mine are white so should be quicker than my slow (black) ver 2.

Thatโ€™s true TR and itโ€™s a lapped race. Thinking more positive now was just a bit peeved today. Thanks all

Never had you down as a drag artist TR ๐Ÿ˜†
I have actually found the 3s better on faster races. It's mainly marathons where the foot scraping come in.
Hope the countermeasures help riggys ๐Ÿคž

You aren't going to do anything to increase your fitness between now and the race riggys so not running at all might be your best chance of making the start line. Hope the residents let you have a quiet night.

About This Thread

Maintained by TR
Hi

Fetch has said us RW refugees can relocate here. I know there are existing sub3 and 3.15 threads, but the fetch threads seem to be for more infrequent posters. The RW threads are more of a daily diary.

We'll see how it goes.

I'm a M57 hanging on to sub3. I'm unattached harriers so like a place to talk a bit of running and find some inspiration and accountability.
