You are a clever fellow. I was just showing the missus G-map pedometer and saying it was a shame FE couldn't follow roads. Ask and it shall be given. Can I have a Ferrari pls? :-)G

I *think* so - I think you can get an array of DirectionsStep's, although there may then be some parsing of the text for each step. I'll try and do a little digging around to see what BikeRotueToaster et al do.

That is absolutely brilliant. You should patent it immediately.

Google have an example at google-developers.appspot.com that puts a marker on each turn by iterating through the steps array, in the showSteps function. Unfortunately I think the direction to turn is simply part of the text instructions, but if it's in a consistent format it should be ok to pick that out and determine if it's a turn left / right, a bear left / right or a straight ahead (which it sometimes seems to put in at roundabouts) You could also use the directions to create a printable turn list. Probably more useful for cyclists (who can tape it to a handlebar bag) or walkers than runners. |

I mean it's OK and all that, but really it'd be better if you could pop over and run all my regular routes with a 100% reliable GPS device, and then save them all with recognisable names. Ones which make me laugh every time I read them. Ta.

Should be pretty easy to add a "Close loop" option now, which just adds another (snapped) point at the same place as the first point. You could also allow using cycle directions as an option instead of walking directions. Just thoughts. Do you want them here or as feedback? |

Feedback is probably best for making sure I don't forget, but mentioning them here is good too, as it's something other people can chip in to.
