! I didn't want to search for any assassination theories for the Autonomy Two for that very reason. G |

My mother had a random conspiracy theorist on tap for many years. I think she may have attracted him when she was campaigning against a disposal facility for potential BSE infected animal carcasses being established close to her home (she won). This chap, "Ed", had her terrified of all the social media platforms, which was probably a good thing because she'd have been a menace as a keyboard warrior. It never seemed to occur to her to question why a retired engineer and recreational IT buff in Yorkshire was being given confidential government information on multiple areas of interest or why he was passing it on to a retired nurse and recreational busybody in Scotland. She got really huffy if we questioned any of it.

You say waterspouts and tornadoes, Cerre, but whose word are we taking that that’s what happened? I never saw any of those freak weather conditions? Did you? 😉

Going back to the fetch conspiracy theorists, there are two others on my watchlist. It is possible they may just hold views I don’t agree with though. Which I guess might make me a potential conspiracy’s theorist in their eyes. |

wrt to the “Bayesian” I believe that the ‘answer’ to the tragedy will be one of simple instability resulting from the disproportionately tall (= heavy) mast overpowering the disproportionately short (= high centre of gravity) raised keel, in exceptional (but obviously not unique wind conditions) leading to catastrophic downflooding, leading to negative buoyancy and therefore rapid sinking.

Bobs has an auntie who is just the same (possibly worse) and fervently believes the moon landings were faked and that government is actively trying to gain control of us by injecting mind-bending drugs into the water supply. Unfortunately she lives not far away and therefore I'm forced to endure her madness more regularly than I'd like. |

I should add that my mother was generally regarded as utterly grounded. This was an impression not to be trusted.
