ZenTaoPlurp way way way too expensive for something I dont actually need or use...

We have Fastershire here. I haven't looked into it but the ex hb now has a mobile booster on a mast and on a roof top so now he has solid 4G that keeps his current wife in broadband to work from home.

I doubt he paid a lot for it.
We looked at satelite before, when we had an international business to run. Between 3 of us it was still way too expensive.
We did put in solar and had a diesel generator for long power cuts, as our water was pumped from our borehole.

Not sure how long the price lasts - but even full price its good value for that type of battery with the higher number of charge cycles that Li ion.

Although there's a unisex EU one for £480. All I need is a few plug convertors, or is there more to it than that?

I have bitten the bullet abnd ordered an EB70. Found a local place who sold it to me for £640. Bluetti web site had gone back to full price.
There was another (Mani Mani) still at £619, but describing it as 2 x 110V outlets. They haven't come back to me yet. So missed the sale.
The German site, only £484 (less German sales tax), but I wasn't convinced the import process and any taxes would be smooth.
So I went for the local one (Hampshire Generators), 25 mins down the M27. They were quite chatty and helpful on the phone, gave me a few options to consider, and seemed to know what they were talking about and give good service.

Will let you know how I get on with it.
But, like insurance, if I need to use it, it's not good news. If I never need it, it's money wasted.

I did wonder if it was worth charging on economy 7 overnight and using during the day, but decided it was too much faffing and not powerful enough to run much household stuff.
Going to keep eye open for sale-price solar panels around Black Friday,

EB70 arrived today. Smaller than I anticipated, although the input power supply is brick sized. With an internal fan.

Now fully charged - let the power cuts begin so I can test it.
Thanks Rosehip for the link and low price.

We live in a fairly rural environment, normally subject to storm electric outage a few times a year. For 4-6 hour, not days.
And it looks like there may be rolling cuts this winter.

But we are reliant on electricity, like most, for broadband and wifi connection. And also for any mobile phone or SMS messaging, since there's no mobile reception here.

Solar panels are too much for me ... so I've been looking at 240V power banks, typically 500-700 Wh, £500 plus or minus-ish, that w...
