Today marks the 3rd annual Poll Clerk Appreciation Day, a holiday first celebrated in May 2019.
I started the event while 'working' as a Poll Clerk with the aim of getting my friends to bring cakes with them to the Polling Station. I'm not working at a polling station today, but in the spirt of the occasion I do plan to visit my former co-workers with some cakes later today.
I noticed in the politics thread there are quite a few Fetchies working in Polling Stations today, and whilst I can't take them all cake I hope this post will serve as a token of my gratitude.

At the vote count, I get tea/coffee and biscuits after the first stage but cakes is a nice touch as the Poll Clerks do have a long day.

£160 for a day's "work". They can buy their own cakes.

I get paid more than that for a day's work but I still appreciate it when customers bring cakes.

Is it allowed? I had no idea. What a lovely gesture.
Our poll clerks remembered my daughter from the elections we had a few weeks ago. I'll bring them cake in a few weeks when we do it all again.
