My boss, we close at 8pm and because she's a pedantic, bossy, control-freak power-whore she makes everyone continue to do stupid, unimportant little jobs until 7.57pm rather than closing the place up as we should be doing, thus we all end up getting away late. She's a cow.

People who insist that me managing time on an in-demand million-quid piece of equipment must immediately be replaced by them scribbling on a sign-up sheet stored two floors away from my office, then complain when I can't tell them off the top of my head what's booked nine days from now.

I'm just going to chip in with some extra hatred for Lotus fucking Notes. Don't get me wrong, the underlying system isn't bad at all, but the actual Notes client you have to use for email/calendar/room bookings/etc is just an absolute dogs dinner of disastrous design that ignores most of the Windows conventions. It generates more than 50% of the helpdesk calls we get.

OPCarl, Maybe I was a bit harsh but she just keeps us back for no reason, I work in a library ffs, nobody will die if the books don't get on the shelves by morning. It's just at the moment the jobs at her level are being "looked at" and she's just on a power trip to try and not get moved to a branch but it's my time she's doing it in and it annoys me!
