Apparently the climbs out of the underpasses can be quite disruptive to pace.

If the underpasses in Paris are anything like the ones in Houston, I don't imagine they'll be too pleasant if they happen regularly!

Thanks for the earlier replies re: Powerade. Looks like it's just the one stop at about half way.

Does anyone who's done Paris before know how big the water bottles are, that we get on the course? 500ml? 330ml?

Just been carb shopping. Malt loaf is my friend!

Dick!
The bottles in previous years have been the little stubbie ones and they take the lids off so the water stops tend to be a bit slippery .the first stop comes up quite quickly and if memory serves serves me right is on a sharp bend . loads of sugar and fruit at all water stops and the famous wine stops after 20 miles for those like me just there for the experience :-)

The distance markers come up quickly too as they're km not miles, so it feels like you're flying. My brain turned to mush about mile 23 though and my garmin stopped working. I couldn't for the life of me work out how far I still had to go. How many kms in a marathon again??
