57.5 Degrees of Pain
New York state does free skiing for over 70s. My FiL made use of that for years. Are there similar incentives to stay active in this country?

I have never heard of these things, but makes sense. I love the fact that "old" is variously over 70, 67, 65, 60, 55, 50 ?! Wtaf?! I run in the hills with an 83 year old club mate. He takes me loads of great routes! What is old? A 60 year old club mate is still PBing at marathon with 2:55s.
I'm off to search for what free stuff is coming to me, other than a bus pass! G

57.5 Degrees of Pain
On the subject of inspiring 'older' athletes, an inspiring 'younger' one. I was 2nd in the VM50 age group at Greenock parkrun today. Looking at the results for the guy in front of me he has a V50 course record there of 16.22!

Old? G1ngerevolution (a Fetchie too young for this thread) named me ‘Alfred’ after the butler in Batman because of my extreme old age when I was barely thirty...
