If you've not done one before then this is kind of how it goes: - cost likely to be between £3 and £6 to cover track hire depending on numbers - Meet up at the track (Woodbank stadium, home of Stockport AC) - we will organise collections from Stockport station for those that need it - mill about and chat nervously - eventually decide that leaving the cake till after the run is sensible - grumble a bit about waiting for cake - start a shuffling warm-up - We then run the mile in groups of similar paces (4 laps + 9 metres added at the start) - Cheer on and shout abuse at the other runners, relieved that you're done - Some suggests running 100m races - everyone anxiously rubs their hamstrings - but goes for it anyway - Cake Time !!! - Group photo - Move to a local hostelry for coffee and food - Relax with the excellent WAVA you can get in a 1 mile race! - Spend the next 10 years avoiding these strange Fetchies
