Fleecy - agreed. About Monopoly.

Maz - is being stuck to the sofa a good situation from which to search for lost things?

I suppose I could search with my mind.

The holiday dates are almost certainly at work, I'm just thinking about them this evening. So probably I might as well stay on the sofa.

Mrs. J: I have given a lot of thought, energy and experimentation to this problem.

Most of the things that are sold for scattering or sprinkling do not work. One that does seem to work pretty well is a sort of green gel, which you shake from the bottle. It has a very pungent but not unpleasant smell. Covering a whole lawn with it would be prohibitively expensive. I use it on freshly-dig earth. Lots and lots of prickly sticks, or holly branches, laid cross-cross over the ground, are also quite successful.

LG, you could hitch a lift with hp, but I'm sure there won't be anything left by the time you get here.

I am prepared to hire out my dog, who will chase any cat who runs away. If it stands its ground, it miraculously becomes invisible to her, and she walks past it pointedly looking in the other direction.

Columba, I don't mind if the cat uses the flower bed, it's when they do it straight on to the grass that I object to.

I have replaced the batteries in the TV remote.

The old ones were flat, so it wasn't working.
