I have just taken the dog out for her last-thing-at-night stroll. It's a bit early but she seems happy to settle down for the night and so am I.

You want them young, while they're still tall and pointy and not opened out. When they open up and look nondescript and start dripping ink they're past their best.

I dunno, I'm reading off the Internet, but I'm loving gaining new knowledge, so this is definitely not mundane for me.
