Waiting for a train. It is reported as being on time. IfIit is still on time when I get off it at CLJ I'll have to start a thread for things that are not mundane, but also not exactly exciting.

Every single train leaving from Coulsdon south and Coulsdon town is reported as on time. I suspect an IT failure. The 08.11 from Redhill has just gone past about 5 minutes late.

It's slightly cheaper and no longer to fly from Venice to Cape Town than to go home first, the cheapest way is to go via Istanbul or somewhere like Dubai from either airport of origin. I'm inclined towards WS's thinking

Chris - my teen reckoned that the punctuality stats (90% on time in the last month etc) are based on the premise that anything up to 15 minutes late is 'on time' in the Southern region.

It's 10 minutes afaik and the time allowed in the timetable to get from terminus-1 to terminus is reputedly several minutes longer than it ought to be, though I've never checked. It's called "timetable padding" and it usrd to mean that traons from Manchester to London would generally arrive 10-15 early.
