'I'm afraid we would need you to have a 6 digit security code before we can do that' When would you have sent me one of those? 'There's not a specific time we send them out. It's just usually at some point' So at some point in the 20 years I have banked with you you might have sent me out a magic number which is more important than the account number, sort code, security code, date of birth and address I just gave you? For no particular purpose, but I was supposed to keep it for a hypothetical future date? Will my mum's maiden name do? I can do that. Think I might just write myself a cheque and go to a real life bank. Crazy.
