Joe’s birthday is on the 3rd of Jan, a bit close to Christmas and sometimes he has to go back to school on his birthday, but generally he gets the day off, as do I.
Lily’s is July 22nd, normally just after the end of the summer term.
I reckon the best time for a birthday, for a child is October, to have something to look forward to in the interminable period between summer and Christmas

For some reason I woke up with the song ‘Leave A Tender Moment Alone’ in my head.

I’m guessing most people are out doing long runs?
I’m eating toast and marmalade

My birthday is the end of April. I think that’s a good time; sometimes it’s Easter, sometimes it’s not. Sometimes it’s snowing, sometimes it’s sunny. Often it’s the London marathon.

My birthday is in Lent. Fortunately, I was brought up in a religion that actively ignored Lent as one of the opposing lot's man-made affectations. One of my children was born in July. Being enormous in the summer was unpleasant. The others were all spring lambs.
