Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Moving on from Mizunos

I'm getting towards the end of my 3rd pair of Mizuno Wave Inspires, and have found them good. Having forgotten to put them in my bag for my lunchtime run, I just popped into the Runners Need near the office - they did not have my size (as they are waiting for the 8's I guess) so was chatting about other shoes/makes.

The lady serving was advising quite strongly against moving away from the Mizuno brand if I am used to it - apparently a number of people struggle to get used to other brands having adjusted to Mizunos - usually knee/ITB problems

Does anyone have any experience or views on this? Sounds a bit odd to me

I always keep (at least) 2 pairs of shoes on the go, so rarely wear the same pair for 2 runs on the trot, which I guess would mitigate it

I wear them too and would like to move away because they keep changing the support and I'm not sure the latest version I have is going to work for me.... I liked the 6s but the 7s are a bit hard at the front and high at the back.

I certainly preferred the 6's - 7's were a bit narrower for me

I had two pairs of Alchemies, but had issues with the width of the toe-box. I was running Nike Triaxes prior to this and have gone back to them without any concerns.

Thanks DG - I also used the Triax's before, so might see if I can find a cheap pair!

I went from Mizuno Wave to Asics 1150s without any problems, and feel far mor comfortable in the Asics, just breaking in my latest pair (2170)

I've had 2 pairs of Mizuno Wave Inspire and they're still my favourite shoe. My current newer pair of shoes are Saucony Pro-Grid - bought because they didn't have my size in Mizuno - I don't find them quite as comfy but I haven't had any other issues. There are lots of good reductions on Mazuno shoes via the web at the moment incidentally.
