Yellow flag smothers everything! I do like them though and planted some by the pond in the food forest. So far not so rampant...

No idea re identifying the plants, but can provide red-hot poker's proper name, i.e. kniphophia. (either or both of those "ph"s might be "f"s).

(but actually the "ph"s look right)

I went out into my garden just after lunch to get a cabbage for this evening's dinner - and didn't come back in until 2 hours later! :-o

I saw a couple of little things which needed doing and it snowballed from there! :-p

My aconites are in flower, one snowdrop has spread its petals and some crocuses are blooming. They all made my unexpectedly prolonged stay outside the more enjoyable. :-)

For some reason my snowdrops have been disappointing so far this year. Usually we have loads but hardly any have put in an appearance so far. I’m hoping they are just being slow coming through. Plenty of daffodil foliage coming up though.

Inlove snowdrops, so have bern nose to the ground in my garden... I am about 3 weeks behind to normal... Usually, they just about start 1st week Jan and should be well flowering by now, while I only have hesitant flowers, hence liberating them from leaves and dead foliage. But late cutting back thisvyear...
