Mrs Jigs (Luverlylegs)
I ordered a raised bed, soil and seeds to grow some veggies, I planned to purchase the bed and soil anyway to grow wildlife flowers, the wildlife will have to wait their turn

The pre delivery "get your foundations/base ready" for my greenhouse arrived this morning.
I hope that means the rest of it will be along soon! I also hope Wickes are still delivering on Friday.

I've never been able to get rid of bindweed...aside from just pulling it out of our holly hedge when it comes over from our neighbour's garden. It's like pulling fine rope out.

I have spent this afternoon building two 8ftx2ft raised beds, clearing and levelling a place for them and starting to fill them. Having a cuppa with Fetch as my back aches! t-shirt and shorts weather though

Wriggling Snake
Mine is too.
A good hour or so out there today, removed the shrub that rotted over the winter, re-filled the space with 3 heather plants, a Pieris and Viburnum, will take a good 3 years to fill the gap though!

Mrs J - I had ordered the raised beds for planting with pretty things, the whole garden had run away from me over the last few years and I've spent a lot of the winter clearing ivy and honeysuckle etc. ready to enjoy a spring of wandering around the garden centres I was disappointed, the pretty garden will have to wait now we're grounded, but having veg to sow and tend will keep me busy

ER, I find that persistance with weedkiller is the only way, maybe train it round a stick, then put a plastic bottle (with both ends cut off) over before spraying if among other plants.

Bindweed: I live with it. Just pull it out regularly, which weakens it. I do not use weedkiller as my garden is completely edible and medicinal. I was against it anyway. It is carcinogenic so wrap yourself up well and wear a mask and goggles ER.
How wonderful to see all this veggie growing going on!
I spent the whole of today with my client, socially distant I hasten to ad, re-jigging a herbaceous border and rabbit fencing it so we can create a potager and grow veg. VERY satisfying!
I have another client who wants me to re-instate their veg bed. We planted it up with perennial herbs last year as they are normally often in their house in Italy, so I ended up growing, tending and eating all their veg... An old client also wants me to come and make a no dig veg bed for him. That will see ALL my clients as vegetable growers now!
