Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Depends where the nest is, surely? If it’s in my gardening shed it’s not staying!

Exactly Angus!
I did have one in my shed when I opened it at the weekend. I didn't think it's a natural cohabitant with the grandkids' garden toys, so I knocked it down with a broom from a distance.

The wasp involved left the shed rather unhappily, hopefully to build a new solitary nest somewhere else.

My corn has begun to sprout, a bit sporadic though, everything went mad over the weekend.....Sunflowers up, cistus flowering, Agapanthus growing very quickly, spring cabbage very leggy still, hoping the forecast cool down and rain will help, onions swelling

The veg bed has passed the drop-your-trousers test ( ;-) ) so the just nicely chitted potatoes are in. As are the onion sets. And the lawn mowed..

Lots of weeding from the veg beds done beforehand.

The garden looks like somebody loves it a bit, again!

Now, somewhen I need to find time to weed the borders and tidy up the fruit canes/bushes before they harden into their current "natural" locations!

I have had them over the back door, above the spare bedroom window, we just left them alone.

Also evidence of nests in the garden shed but didn’t see any activity so might have happened before we moved here.

There appears to be a wasp nest somewhere behind the air bricks next to my front door. Little buggers were coming and going out of it all weekend. They may have a stay of execution - our customer service focused council wont even take any bookings to treat them until after 6th May even though we now have to pay for the service! Alternatively I may just have to suit up and treat them myself. I am a bit scared ....

We had some wanting to share the garage with hubby...who objected to their presence.

I emptied my 2 small water butts into the big empty (not connected to anything) butt as I'm expecting them to be refilled in the next day or two.

I can tolerate the wasps until they start eating my plums in the autumn.
