Oh I believe you HOD. Five years ago you were running like Quasimodo, all you could do was improve.

Hi! Sorry if this is not the right place for this question. Does anyone know of a Pose-knowledgeable person in the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States area? I have had an appointment with a man named Tracy Peal (http://www.tracypealspeed.com/TracyPealSpeed/Intro.html) who is very knowledgeable and astute but costs a lot of money. I'm hoping to find someone trained in Pose Method who is cheaper or covered by insurance. Please let me know if this question belongs elsewhere or if you know of any resources. I found this page from here (http://www.runnersworld.co.uk/forum/general-running/pose-method-of-running/8237-247.html). Thank you!

Seht, In the past, several Pose coaches posted regularly on this thread, but in recent years, most of the discussion about Pose occurred on the Pose thread: http://www.fetcheveryone.com/viewtopic.php?id=26100
However, that thread has not been very active recently and furthermore most of the Pose coaches who have posted there were based in the UK. As far as I know, only one was based in the US. I am not sure this is much help, but nonetheless suggest you post your question on the Pose thread.

What is the secret of Mo’s awe-inspiring finishing kick. It is clear from an examination of many of his races, even preceding his time with Alberto Salazar, that he runs with a remarkably long stride and low cadence in the mid-stages of a race, and then maintains this stride length while increasing cadence to match his opponent sin the final lap.

The best way to achieve a long stride and relatively low cadence is to utilise recoil energy efficiently. Mo appears to do this by dorsi-flexing his ankle by around 10 degrees immediately prior to foot-strike.

I have reviewed the evidence for this on my Wordpress blog

I suspect the dosriflexion also helps the 1500m speed.

How does the dorsiflexion compare to Kiprop?
