I read today that Aldi mince pies are voted joint best pies of the year (alongside either Waitrose or M&S, I can't remember which). just had 2. Really liked them. Well filled and have that Christmas taste. Buttery pastry.

Cheeky’s Dad
Had a pack of Morrison’s “Baker Market St” MPs Quite heavy on the pastry and a slightly unusual hint-of-strawberry-jam flavour. Not bad but nothing special. I’m going to try Aldi, since we don’t have a local Waitrose

As a family we like to try a few different ones, which will probably include all major supermarkets by the time we get to the end of Christmas, and see if we have a consensus on our favourite. The CoOp superior ones have been our favuorites for the last couple of years.
In the last two weeks we've had:
M&S quality version - good level of filling - acceptable; Morrisons standard - very pastry heavy - poor; M&S frangipan topping - disappointing - not worth repeating; M&S cookie dough - pleasingly different - deep filling. On the maybe list.
So that's +4 for me
