57.5 Degrees of Pain Nov 2022 7:28am, 15 Nov 2022 10,250 posts	0 57.5 Degrees of Pain Not mincemeat but, when we were clearing out our Mum’s house in Feb 2019, when she moved into a nursing home, I discovered a jar of golden syrup in her cupboard with a best before date of Feb 1997. Just the 22 years out of date! For info, it was part used and, no, I didn’t try any. She too had lived through the war and didn’t believe in throwing things away (clearly) [Maybe your mum remembered that smearing golden syrup on a window and sticking paper to it would stop it shattering during bombing?]
