Cheers Uyuni! Great running yesterday, you looked really strong when you stopped for the gels.

Thanks GR for welcoming the family - I certainly wasn't feeling strong 10 minutes or so after I left. Its amazing how quickly a mini meltdown can come on - fortunately at only 3 miles from the finish I got it back together again after abandoning any time goals and focused on "enjoying" the final stretch

Oops. The 47%/53% strategy is based on studies which show that most runners slow as a marathon goes on. So, an even pace approach (ie target time simply divided by 26.2) doesn't work for most. So, the idea is to do the first half in 1:52 (47%), leaving 2:08 (53%) for the second.

I'm in, just been looking back at the course profile from last years attempt. I can now see why I walked near the 20 mile mark.

Fingers crossed for a better showing, and a sub 3 this year.

I'm number 0045

I am 767. Let's hope I am as fast as the Boeing airliner with the same number.

Is it too early to start worrying about Monday's weather? When I last ran this in 2012 it pissed down and the course had to be changed due to flooding!😧

I'm up for this one, I'll be a little mashed after Three forts the day before but starting to get complacent and thinking I should do sub 3 again.

Rain would be nice after last years sun.

Weather forecast is showing a nice bit of rain for Monday so that means we'll have blazing sunshine.
