I know I've posted similar before, but this time, it's really it :( We are in the process of arranging for a vet to do a home visit tomorrow or Wednesday to end Squeaker's suffering. She's been going downhill again for a week or so and had a really bad weekend. We trailed her off to the vet tonight only for the vet to say, yes, it's time to say goodbye. It was all a bit too sudden and I just couldn't bring myself to go through with it so they're going to come out to the house for us. She has had no quality of life for months and I haven't heard her purr or mew for weeks and weeks. She exists rather than lives. It's just too sad :(

oh and for those of you who are FB friends, please don't mention anything about this there yet. I need to tell my Dad first and he could find out from there. I'm dreading that bit, he has a real soft spot for her :(

Many sympathies Susie.

Awake at 4:30 here, probably my own fault. I think Helga is getting fat so have restricted the wet food she gets in the evening- poor thing thought it was time for breakfast. She still gets wet food twice a day, dry food on demand and in the last week or so a never ending supply of mice. It's amazing the sleepy lazy thing can move fast enough to catch them.

The deed is done. She had no fight left in her and slipped away quickly and peacefully. She's now in the garden under a freshly planted Japanese maple with beautiful purple leaves. So long puss and thanks for all the squeaks.
