Is there any way of stopping a cat from using the other cats litter tray?

No. Unless it is a older cat going into a kitten tray then you can limit the entrance size. But it normally means the older cat shreds their way in anyway!

My cat brought me 2 starling chicks yesterday. He must have found a nest and cleared it out. He was very proud of himself!

Lasya was/is the same when going out... she takes two sniffs and gets back in!

She also loves the cheapo Aldi clumping cat litter and perfers it thin! The lady who looks after her when away makes the litter much deeper, which she doesn't like as much, she chucks it out until it is to her liking!

I am not keen on clay litters they tend to be dusty and make cough. I left the patio door ajar for her today. She had a sniff around and was generally interested in the smells and noises going on outside. She even put her paws outside but not for very long. I might try her on a lead if she is up for it

Steady Edna, not sure if this has been suggested, we have four bundles of devastation and have placed 6 litter trays strategically around the house as they too 'like their own', this seems to work.

Ha, yes! I'm all the talk, but when it comes down to it I'm as sentimental about the blackcats as anyone.

Except when they insist on sitting on *my* bit of the sofa. They get flight-tested then.
