FR, I thought before you've said before your favourite part is Gowbarrow? That's after Blencathra...

Bored of over 60 miles on trails in the Lakes?
Though there are parts I'm sure I will become less fond of, I don't think I could ever become bored of the Lakes

My goal is the same, back in time for last orders.

Yeah, I can't imagine getting mental fatigue on the L100 route, considering the amount of time I spend going round and round and round all the routes from my front door. But, saying that, I've only done one L100 - maybe it does grate over time, I genuinely don't know.
I'm in the "no unfinished business, but I want to conduct my business more effectively" camp. Will be distraught if not back for last orders.

DaveA, not during the race but out of it too many times.
Flanker, after the bloody mind numbing Coach Road even Gowbarrow fails to delight.

I don't quite understand why you'd be on a thread where you have no intention of doing the event and find most of the course boring? Maybe I should find a thread about a track marathon and say I'm not doing it because I wouldn't find it very exciting?
I'm in a complete quandary about next year. Do the 50 again, something I know I can do and do quite well, with the only challenge to do it faster? Or try the 100, something I'm not at all sure I can do, but would be amazing if I did? I can't quite get my head around the fact that if you enter something you don't think you can do then you're probably going to fail, but the simple fact is that so many people *do* fail and therefore you have to be realistic in your attempt and understand that there's a good chance you won't finish and be able to deal with that failure without going to pieces in disappointment. I just don't know what to do Play it safe or gamble?

In fact this year, Gowbarrow was slightly ruined by the most prolific bracken growth.
In comparison to 2013, Buttermere to Braithwaite didn't have much bracken, most be due to climatic variations?

Reading back KinkyS I did wish you all well, then failed to avoid the trap set by V'Rap.

Evening, I'll be back next year, bummed around the course this year with my buddy Andy & then picked up a couple of stragglers, one was the chap who helped me out last year, would have been a bit churlish to leave him behind so managed to drag him, well actually both of the stragglers to their 1st 100mile finishes. Felt happier for them than for myself.
