Just can't even pace a marathon

Quote Pin Big Dan running man Hi I've run a marathon before but my pacing was awful and I know I need to keep it steady around 9 mins a mile, but knowing and doing are very different. Tech I've used so far doesn't help me much so far whether fitbit or map my run as I can only adjust every half mile. Listening to my body doesn't work either. Any advice on how to run evenly.

Some target paced runs might help to give you a 'feel' for the pace. Some marathons, and other races, have pacers that might help you to keep at a steady pace.

This will mean checking you garmin every 30 seconds or so in the first 10 miles but it's the only to stick to race pace and not speed up. If you can stick to race pace in the first 10 miles, you should be ok, but keep checking just to be sure
