Only one thing worse than having no washing on a good drying day and that’s the line breaking! Used to happen to my mum sometimes pre whirleygig :(

Lovely drying day here on the South Coast. Hung a load of washing on the line this morning.
Mrs.12bar & I then went for a nice walk up to the Devils Dyke & back. When we got home at 4:30 the washing was nice & dry.

I got to remenicsing, with all this talk about washing. I remember when we were kids, we had to put the washing through the mangle in the back garden before our mum would hang it on the washing line. How times have changed.

I've had a couple of loads on the line today but it's just getting that bit of wet in the air so I've brought them in now. I hate my whirlygig and am considering putting up a couple of poles for a long line.

I miss a proper line. Coincidentally I’ve just fetched in a load of shirts, a bed sheet and two pairs of beige chinos because they’re 95% dry and it’s spitting with rain ☔️

It's just very windy here, as we live quite high up. I'm worried that clothes on a line will disappear on a very windy day, which is why I've put up with the whirly since we moved in

Fierce and Focused Fleecy
I have a wall mounted fold down one, it is brilliant! Used to have a whirly and then a line and they were both crap and I got wet feet when the grass was muddy. This is down the side path and hidden away but in a bit of a wind tunnel and holds 2 loads worth:

I like the look of that Fleecy! One of the things I dislike about the whirly it that it's always *there* I never noticed my old line when it didn't have washing on it. Thanks for the link!

Terminology: 'Fluffing' -- Going out and runninng your hands over the washing just to feel whether still moist. Sometimes not needed but we all like to fluff

'Melvyn' - where you run you fingers through your washing, you think it's damp but you're not sure. It could be dry. You leave out or take in? you've done a Melvyn'.
