Nice boing of the thread from your sis there I didn't go to this school but have you tried Facebook groups? Sorry to bring up the dread FB but I have found it useful for reconnecting with people from the past. Lots of schools seem to have Old Boys/Girls groups set up... |

Did Facebook completely replace Friends Reunited or is there a similar site around? Go back 10-15 years and FR was definitely the main one for tracking down old school/ uni friends. The other one worth checking, although a bit hit and miss, is LinkedIn... |

Thanks for your responses, we have a school facebook group which has (like here) several thousands or millions of people on it (well at least 10 when I last looked), but as Fetch seems more active then the school FB group I thought I would try this angle first.. Cstar and Garfield - the Gordonians Running Club (of which I am a member) will be running at the Woking Park run on 10 July - our Patron Paula Fudge hopefully will be there too Be good to meet some more fetchies |

Completely unrelated, but I went to a school in Aberdeen called Robert Gordon's College. Our rugby and hockey teams and our FP association are called Gordonians. Don't think we ever had a running club. G

Nor did we until we formed one six years back ! There was also a Gordon Boys school in Kent and I think that there was one in Australia as well - Obviously not as famous as Gordonston or whatever the famous one in Scotland was called (not Robert Gordon's!). We used to wear Gordon Tartan on our twes (excuse spelling) and we had our own pipe band schoolsearch.co.uk Looking at your school pictures - you also used Gordon dress Tartan ! Your Robert Gordon is not the same as our General Gordon |

Our Robert Gordon made his money in shipping / trading with Poland (Gdansk), Baltic States etc. I think. Was originally a hospital - 1750s, then a school for the poor etc. School colours are blue and yellow (don't remember much tartan!), symbol is a pelican (no idea why). But no, no connection it appears. Also none to Gordonstoun (the school the royals go to, in the highlands). We used to play them at rugby. David Bowie's son was there (Gordonstoun, not Gordon's!) in my era, not just royals! G |
