Excitabubble - so you're pleading a case of right place, right time? Hmm... But yes, you definitely topped the table with most kills

If you look over the results the smileys hardly get a mention for at least 20 pages. They were largely ignored in the early stages which meant they lasted longer. Nice tactic.

There's a number of ways the game could be extended. Currently we're concentrating on killing and survival - you could add new 'badges' - eg wingman/assists - those who set up kills; paramedic - heals from 1; lostcausechaser - healing the same icon three times; bully - hurts same icon three times etc etc; family - heals the icon of the last person to heal your 'champion'.
You could invent extra 'interventions' - eg pray - once per game restore all life to specified icon (or maybe double the current life of an icon); sacrifice your heal to hurt two icons 1 apiece; sacrifice your hurt to heal two icons 1 apiece; boomerang hurt - don't figure in the life totals for specified time (eg boomerang 48 *icon* would hurt it in 48 hours instead of now. Extra complexity - nominate a champion icon - you can extra-hurt another icon if you also hurt your own (eg -3 and -1 respectively). It would be nice to have stealth and/or random modes, but they rely more on trust of the game admin - which I'm sure we do, but one of the good things about this game is the transparency.
Yes, I do miss playing D&D, why do you ask?

monki - I was thinking of ways to add some complexity (although perhaps not quite that much ;)) and may come back to you on some of these... The one major change that I may put in is 48hr instead of 24hr - this is more to lessen the impact for me, really, as at times I was spending up to two hours when I got home from work catching up...
Anyway... I'm just going to log my LSR (planned 14 miles, did 15.5 including a rather vicious hill in Heaton Park - that'll help my Conquercise stats) then I'll put some details up about Fantasy FetchIcon...
