A more usual, 2-4 maybe 5 would be more representative.

‘Bottling it and handing title to Liverpool’
Arsenal have matched Liverpool over last 5 games: 3 wins, 2 draws. So maybe Liverpool are bottling it and handing it to Arsenal. Or they’re both bottling it and handing it to Forest (5 wins last 5 games) or Newcastle (also 5 wins).

I don't subscribe to this thought about one or two losses (draws even) means teams are bottling it. We've been unnaturally accustomed to teams at the top being juggernauts and rolling over almost everyone in their path. That was never the case in the old first division, or for many years of the Premier League. It's only the last decade at most where some of the top teams barely seem to ever lose and so the runners-up miss out on a title with a points tally that would have been more than handsome before.

Have you watched Liverpool and Arsenal.
Liverpool are progressive and don't sit on a 1-0 lead. Arsenal are scratchy and after a dominant first half, got over run by Brighton.
The league is played over 38 games, not 5. Already 5 points ahead, with two games in hand, against United and Everton.
Liverpool would have to blow-up spectactularly to not win it.

You have changed from arsenal bottling it to Liverpool going to win it. I think you will find near 100% agreement on Liverpool, but as you have said arsenal this season are just not good enough.

Fenners, yes. Liverpool are better and will win the title. But Arsenal matching Liverpool over 5 games is not ‘bottling it’. They’re keeping pace, and hanging in there hoping Liverpool will have a bad patch which is all you can do as an inferior team.
If they end up 2nd that’s fair, they need to get better to win the League but again that’s not ‘bottling it’.
Look across North London if you want to see ‘bottling it’….

I enjoyed hibs against rangers today. Gifted them three goals and squandered a few great chances. 3-3 draw a fair outcome in the end.
I hear clement is Moaning about the penalty but with Beaton as ref and Clancy on var it must have been of the stonewall variety
