How diligently have you tried to become flexibile enough to touch your toes? Days weeks months years?

Even during 4 years of consistent, fairly serious gymnastics training as a (surely more flexible) teenager, still couldn't do it.

Probably. Maybe I need hamstring extenders, like you can put in the waistband of your trousers if you're over weight ;-)
