Love those gifts. FSS is such a wonderful thing to be part of.
I have an unhealthy obsession with cook books. Over the years I’ve had many a clear-out then end up with heaving shelves of cookbooks again several years later 😂 I’m also one for improvising when cooking and making it up as I go along so very rarely follow a recipe as well. However, I just love looking at them and do get plenty of inspiration from them. Particularly interested in cuisines from all over the world.

Agreed about cookbooks being fabulous - I love reading them and imagining the flavours. For a few years I tried to cook a new recipe every week - many of which turning into keepers.

I have weeks where I say every meal this week will be from xx book it definitely helps mix things up. I’ve started doing more Indian cookery and got Dan Toomes curry bible. It’s based on British Indian restaurant style so a base sauce is made and from that you make the curry you want. I like doing my the curries from scratch too but this is great for a midweek option or to do a couple of options in one cook.

Dan Toomes is good! We use his bible, and my partner likes making hairy biker curries.
