We had the first scan on Tuesday. Wow!!!! What an amazing experience to see the wee monkey in there, wiggling about. Then it was actually lounging back with a hand behind its head and its legs crossed, just chilling out like its dad.....the other fist was all clenched up (like me hahaha) Its feels very real now we have seen it, its amazing. We still need to wait a few weeks on the NT results ,I'll be 41 when giving birth so risks a bit higher, but everything was healthy and growing nicely. Had my date moved forward by 4 days just so am 13weeks now. Still on cloud 9 from it all.
Hope you are going well lambkin. Very quiet in here, am guessing its just you and me expecting

Yay for the date moving forward, I loved that happening to me. Gracie came on her original due date though so it makes no odds really, just meant that i was annoyed at being late for 4 days!
My fitness is taking forever to come back. My immune system is shot to pieces. I've been well for less than 2 weeks in total since she was born. I've currently got this cough that everyone has had and a bad cough with a weak pelvic floor is not a fun thing to have. I think that's the reason i got a kidney and bladder infections last week. I ended up getting sent to a and e with that! I rang 111 to see the best place to go to get some antibiotics urgently (thinking gp or walk in) and they told me to go in straight away. I've since read one of those health awareness posters and I think they were worried I had sepsis!
This cough needs to do one fast. I'm entered into parliament hill cross country next week. I was expecting to have a month or 2 of solid training under my belt by then. I haven't ran since the beginning of January :o

Hey Battlecat. Ha i never thought of the being annoyed part if the baby was late.
Sorry to hear about the immune system, sounds like you've had a terrible time lately. Weirdly im just googling this morning how to make my immune system stronger, catching every cold going and never used to, think i've had 2 weeks since i became pregnant where ive not been ill. Hope your better for the cross country, especially at Parliament hill, ouch!!!
I'm trying to find some kind of local classes i can do to keep fitness up but cant find anything so might just have to stick to yoga online and hopefully be able to do some small runs again soon.
Take care x

Hello. I have a question about running while pregnant: for those that did run during pregnancy, did you wear anything special or just your normal running clothes? Thanks.

Whatever fits MuddyBoots! I've never forked out for the super expensive maternity stuff though.
36 weeks now! Haven't put my trainers on for a long time.

Thanks ladies. I may be asking questions every now and then as it has been a few years since my first child. I am 11 weeks today, with my first scan on thursday. But I am being very cautious about being hopeful as I have had 3 miscarriages between the first child and now. Hence, I am being anonymous.
For my next question: I am to the point where I am no longer wearing a belt with my jeans and when in the car for long journeys I unbutton the trousers. Are there good button extenders you have used? Or should I just give up and get out the next size up jeans I have in storage?

Wishing you all the best Muddyboots.
I have just gave up on normal jeans last week, i found it difficult to get anything to fit being quite short legged!! Ended up with Debenhams maternity jeans which so far seem pretty comfy. One of my friends suggests using an elastic band / hair bobble on the button of your normal jeans and looping it into the hole as a makeshift extender.
