First-time poster!!

Hey all. Fingers and toes crossed to you TOtt xx I seem to have some news - after over a year of trying, I am pregnant! I should probably add a bit more to my post from 12th October really....through the year I had had various tests to check that all was ok. My doc wasn't 100% sure that I was ovulating so I was due to start treatment on my next cycle, expected in November. However that next cycle never came.....! Whether it was because I was more relaxed knowing that treatment was about to start, or whether it was just finally my time, who knows. Just waiting to find out when my scan date - hopefully in mid Jan

Thank you all! I already seem to have my first pregnancy dilemma though! Just found out the person hosting our Christmas day has the flu. I have not had the flu jab (although am having one tomorrow). Should I steer clear / make different plans? The internet is full of horror stories :-/

Congratulations on the pregnancy, I'd be avoiding anyone with the flu whether I was pregnant or not. It's vile and you wouldn't want to risk it.

As soon as you have the jab you are covered for that type of flu but there's no guarantee it's the one they have I don't think? I got sinusitis when pregnant so no antibiotics and it was bloody awful. I would avoid! X |

As jude says the jab only covers certain strands if flu they hope they're the right ones, but aren't always.

Flu jab takes 10 to 14 days to kick on fully. nhs.uk If the host has the flu they won't be up to much by Sunday. You'll be doing everyone a favour if you steer well clear. |
