Wow, that is enormous. How many pieces? Do you always make sets from instructions or have you ever constructed from scratch to your own design? Looks amazing. :-) G

9000 pieces or so and these ones are from the instructions. Have been known to dabble with brothers kids making random stuff from scratch though.

Will have a look kstuart.

I've had a thought about post retirement modelling idea. I like train sets. And radio control. One of problems with trains is continuous electrical contact. The second is controlling multiple trains on same track. Latter has been solved by digital control. Former requires careful track laying, good electrical contact.

However I also like and know a bit about battery power and radio control. Sooo, small battery and receiver/ speed controller in each. It could then run on no track, or plastic or rusty. A wee project! :-) G

I have finished it but not stuck the last bits on as i want to take pics of the minimalistic way it connects which is a job for tomorrow ;)

I did build the last two bits you remove to access the carry handle so they just need clicked in and then finally attaching the little ship onto the front end.

Wow kstuart - that's a lot of star wars lego! Is that star destroyer to tantive to scale? Shows how huge they are!

Well 9 months after first investigation into model planes, I will finally be getting to try one tomorrow at local model club. A chap with a dual control trainer plane will let me try it out. Very excited!

Hopefully after that I'll get my own. :-) G

They fly both, in planes and helicopters. I think most helicopters are ICE. The plane I'm looking to get will be electric though. :-) G

HappyG(rrr) aye it's to scale

More interestingly if the star destroyer was to mini figure scale (it comes with none btw other than the randoms on the bottom of the frame) it would be about 55 metres long

About This Thread

Maintained by HappyG(rrr)
I can't believe that we've got Crafts, Gardening, Computer Games, but not model cars, trains...!

Just don't call them toys!

My particular hobby was 1/10th scale radio controlled car racing. I'm now looking to get into radio controlled planes. We have some Airfix model builders in here and Lego builders too. Any type of model vehicles really! Planes, trains, automobiles... boats, helicopters, anything! Come join in! :-) G
