Indoor track is a great idea, then we would not be at the mercy of the weather and risk the chance of it being cancelled at the last moment if there is bad snow or ice.
Having organised a few fetch miles the best thing is just to pick a date and go for it, you will never please all of the people all of the time and if there is something else on that weekend then people will just have to choose, so nerr;-)

the date's set - january 16th - now waiting on Homer to choose the venue (either Warrington or Sheffield), which is dependent on availability for that date.
*hope it's okay to repeat that, H, didn't want that getting lost in the discussion :)*

Aren't weird internet conventions normally held at the NEC in Birmingham?

Cavey, you forget, we also knocked the indoor track on the head cos nobody wanted to run round 8 times and outside is better in the summer
but having had a Yorkshire mile cancelled for snow indoors in Jan would be ok

Indoors would be a brilliant idea if this is to be held in January. The EIS is a brilliant setup, nice track, plenty of seating availible and decent food on tap. I'm not sure if there is a bar there though (though I suspect there might be).
Plus we'd probably get to see Jess Ennis, Peter Elliot, and an array of top boxers, volleyballers and snooker players wandering around

ok - descision made - indoor it is
We'll get a date booked then get volunteers, ok?
Executive descision - I live near manchester and Sportcity has an indoor track, we can go there or Brummy land. I will call both and see which is free and what it costs.....
Wherever we go there will be happy folk and sad folk, so lets just get BIIIIIIG

Manchester and Brum are good.
If we're thinking BIIIIG, then it has to be a BIIIIIG city. Lots more to see and do, as it'll be a long way to travel for just 1 mile for most people, so will be nice to turn it into a city break.
