The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

I reckon if you have to think whether you find something offensive, it's probably not :-)

We used to do ginger beer "plants" and this seems the same.

I expect that's so but it makes me feel uncomfortable for some reason so I always just talk about "the cake" :-)

It was interesting to see the response from some of the mums of the recipients. A couple of the "can't cook; won't cook" types looked absolutely mystified by the whole idea.

I can and will cook. Which is probably why I am also mystified by the whole idea.

It was a Herman cake the last time I did one - many years ago. Middle Loon came home with one the other day and he called it a friendship cake. I can certainly start another one up here, call it a Fetchie cake and pass it on to some local Fetchies.

Just need to get some tablet and blondies out the way before I head to Englandshire this weekend first. Although I could bring a mix down to Northampton and get one going there too.
