I remember buying a pair of the very first model that came out - was it the 270? And the uppers fell to bits very quickly, but not before I'd decided they were useless for running in. Bobs gets on with them though, she puts a high arch orthotic into them and finds them great. I remember she won the Cumbria Way Ultra in a pair

I forgot to mention - I was loaned a pair of the prototype 255s and really didn't find them any different to the 200s, in fact I would say they are very like the old "standard fit" 212. I had to give them back to Inov8 bloke though

Some tracks round here (I live in Settle) have been really torn up by trail bikes over the summer. But hopefully not up Ingleborough. I did the 3 peaks a few years ago in a very dry spell in innov8 mudclaws and wow that made my feet ache. Since then I've used some version of roclite when running on tracks.

Fozzy - am I right in thinking they're banned on Ilkley Moor? I saw lots of tyre tracks when I was there last Friday. It's unfair to place the blame for continued erosion solely on mountain bikers btw, but there are some places where they have definitely caused a lot of damage.
