It's been that for a few years I'm sure, they put a CP at the bottom of the descent to ensure that you did it. I know this because the first year it changed I had to run back to it.

Northern Exile Feb 2020 10:34am, 2 Feb 2020 5,891 posts	0 Northern Exile Fozzy, I've been digging around and the last time the race was ran with the Baildon CP in the "old" position was 2016, apparently it was moved due to safety conditions. I don't want to sound pedantic, but was there a "correct" line off the summit? I can see three separate lines that I took over the years? I daresay none were appreciably better than the other!!

rf_fozzy Feb 2020 11:13am, 2 Feb 2020 9,502 posts	0 rf_fozzy The old CP was for safety crossing Bingley Rd, so moving it for "safety conditions" sounds silly to me! They probably just didn't like that people couldn't navigate off the top...but anyway. There wasn't a "correct" line per se, but there was a best line. See below (you need a better map than OS to show it....)
