flanker Jan 2020 1:32am, 13 Jan 2020 18,856 posts	0 flanker Enjoyed it NE. I'd call it more of a trail race than a fell race, but it was a pleasantly challenging and scenic course. Quite scary how much fitness I've lost, but so be it. Oh, and I went for a swim on the last stream crossing

A few places here and there where you can go off-piste to try and gain an advantage. It's still pretty rough terrain in places though. Am thinking the descent off Top Withins on ALS in particular..

A few opportunities to take a parallel trod to avoid a boggy bit of the main path and to cut the corner on a hairpin, but that's about it. The guy running (term used loosely) in road shoes was having a fun time 😂
