Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

@jackdaw, I like sessions like that sometimes too. Some days I want to push the grade and some days I want to enjoy being on the wall

eL Bee! and I had a session at the Kilmarnock wall this afternoon, including a coffee break. There were enough top ropes to keep us occupied.

One of the staff insisted on our rope bag being moved off the floor. I approve :) It does my head in when the floor of the climbing area gets covered with temporarily abandoned ropes, water bottles, jackets, bags, and people doing yoga.

Another decent session at Kong this afternoon. I'm particularly pleased with a long over-vertical 6a+ on a line I've always found difficult due to limited strength endurance.

Good stuff. You’re easing back into it nicely.

Where is Kong?

After 4 months off (more or less) with a dodgy ankle, I'm building up again. Technique is fine but I've lost a lot of strength endurance.

Rebuilding running is taking priority as I'm off to the Alps soon, but while there I'll be doing some icy v-diffs 3000-or-so metres up....should be fun

Probably look to build up more seriously indoor in the autumn - but mind you the rain is like autumn

Kong is in the centre of Keswick, attached to a big sports kit shop.

Back in last night for 2 hours. They’ve reset one of the longer walls last week and as it was quiet we got to try out every one of the new top rope routes.

If we go in when it’s busy the longer routes are usually busier so our recent return to climbing has been on generally shorter routes. Was nice to play on the longer wall that also overhangs as part of the crux moves.
