Think there’s one on a farm near Coatham Woods macca. If not it’s certainly something similarly vocal.

Yes, that's the one. I've heard it while walking the dogs round the woods in the past. Not sure exactly where it comes from (though I would guess the farm kind of opposite the main entrance) and quite why because it's not a visitor farm to my knowledge. Perhaps they make good pets of even guard birds.

My neighbour over the way has rare breed ducks and chooks. He also has peacocks, white peacocks and rheas. Occasionally the peacocks pop over my way - 2 large fields away.

They are amazing to see in flight just because of their size, like a very clumsy pheasant (same family of course).

To be honest, until then I always thought of them as flightless!! Though I can partly see the error of my foolishness.

If god hadn’t wanted us pheasants to fly he wouldn’t have given us plane tickets.

I’ve never seen a peacock in flight, though I did see them in trees in India, but low down.

A peacock flew over my head this morning on my walk down the quiet lane by my house. After I got over the shock of something that big flying so close to my head in the gloomy dawn light it was quite funny! This one wasn't very elegant in flight. More like a flying bus. It only made a brief clucking noise and that was when it obviously thought it was going to fly into me! 😉😂

I have never seen a peacock flying. On a caravan holiday some years back one roosted fairly high up in a nearby tree each night. I saw it walking that direction at the appropriate time and watched it for half an hour. It flew up in the approximately 5 seconds I looked away.
