A goldcrest made a quick visit to Mum and Dad’s garden today to use the birdbath for a drink / paddle. The first mallard ducklings were taking an energetic swim in the pond in the park.

I saw my first swallow of the year yesterday evening while out running. A single bird on a telephone wire, probably lamenting the cold wind.
That seems early this year.

I've been in the Lakes this week and was almost tripping over Wheatears, they were everywhere. Willow Warblers seemed to arrive at the back end of last weekend.
