Skein of forty or so pinkies this morning. As is very often the case I heard them before I spotted them

Couple of whooper swans flew over as I walked through a reedbed in the Broads this afternoon. Also probable bearded tits, but not definite.

Lovely male sparowhawk in the garden today. Hanging around by the feeders, and repeatedly trying to flush birds from the hedge. I think he might have gone away hungry.

I've been watching on ongoing battle between a robin and some coal tits this morning. The robin has decided the seed feeder is his and there will be no access for coal tits.
They have other ideas on the issue.

It's the greenfinches which boss our feeders. They're thugs. The other birds don't dare come near.

Spent two hours plus today in the car and probably the ‘best’ bird I saw was a kestrel. Awful weather and barely light all day in and around the Pennines
