Having pretty much dissolved numbers in some fell/trail/cross country runs, I'm not convinced they'd survive some of the conditions the great British countryside can throw at you as well as the good old safety pin can!

Cover number in clingfilm if it's made from less durable material.

I once got detention at school (well, more than once) but on this occasion, the slip said 'misuse of a safety pin'
True story.

I could only find 3 for my last race and it was a really windy day. Drove me nuts.

Surely the 12.4g would be a weight issue?

hats with numbers printed on? practical and stylish. I spent too much of my race on saturday trying not to get my thumbs caught on my number. what about tops with zips in the right place, then zips down the sides of the numbers? I'd pay extra for that.

My problem with safety pins is never remembering any, rather than problem with them once they're on. I'm not sure that these would solve that problem in the slightest!
I would quite like a top with my parkrun barcode printed onto it...
